Captain Orso Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 I've apparently deleted some entries in the Russian SAM Template and cannot figure out how to get them back. I opened the SAM Template Menu And selected Russian and then SA-10... and clicked on the tiny symbol in the circle to the right of the SAM pull-down, and the SA-10 entry was removed, and I can find no way to get it back. I have a back up from the previous day, but I have no idea which file(s) to restore. I've also done a repair, but nothing changes. SA-10 is still missing from the templates. oldpop Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 +1, but ALL of the Russian SAMS are mission. tried the repair as well?
oldpop Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 template I took the "template.lua" from the "stable" and placed it in the "beta". all came up! :):)
Captain Orso Posted February 12, 2019 Author Posted February 12, 2019 Okay, I've been playing around with this, and have found a lot out. First off, it's a bit buggy. If you have a mission with USA and Russia, for example, and select Russia, SA-10, and place it on the map, and then close the menu. When you open the menu again, per default USA is selected as faction, but SA-10 is still set as battery, AND if you now click on the map, it will add the SA-10 battery will all its units with faction USA  You really shouldn't be able to delete the default templates(!!). -- Management Summery If you've inadvertently deleted any of the default templates, to get them back, move '..\Saved Games\DCS{.openbeta}\MissionEditor\templates.lua' to a safe location -- if you have added any templates you wish to save -- or simply delete it, and start re-DCS. You will now have all the default templates available. The 'template.lua' file is only added if you add your own custom template, or delete a default template. Captain Orso Posted October 13, 2019 Author Posted October 13, 2019 A safe location? Someplace within your folder structure, where you will still know where they are in a week, and where you can be assured they won't get deleted or changed accidentally, if you might need them again later.
