Jacks Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 (edited) My Video memory usage just keeps going up and up and after 1-1.5 hours of playing online, it hits 18GB (I have 16GB RAM and 2GB VRAM) and my frame half. What could be causing this and is anyone suffering form the same?! I have attached a picture that shows the state of my memory as soon as I entered a server after restarting the PC. It shows 10GB video memory yet in Task Manager, DCS is only using 6GB of RAM. I did some testing in single player and started the M2000 free flight mission, the video memory was 4.5GB. I then left that mission and entered the F-86 Mig Sweep mission and the video memory was 8Gb. I then left this mission and restarted the M2000 free flight mission and this time the video memory was 6.5Gb. Therefore it gain 2Gb as if the Video memory is not being cleaned between missions. Is this normal?? codefox Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 (edited) That's not the VRAM leaking here, it's a memory leak in DCS (it's RAM here, they just call it Video memory). We are seeing a huge pagefile on the VA server currently (82GB) which is very possibly caused by DCS. The Windows task manager shows a 114GB of commited RAM. The DCS server seems to be running bad as well due to that, lagging seems to have increased. Edit: I shall add that we're running DCS on the latest version, 1.5.3.53279.80. Jacks Posted June 5, 2016 Author Posted June 5, 2016 I am also running the newest version. How come this is issue is not affecting everyone? Abburo Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 That system memory leak (not the video memory) could be also generated by some scripted actions in the missions. There were some parallel discussions where people were trying to nail down stuttering and finally it was reported to ED. This problem have a big chance to be related to that one. There were some parallel discussions where people were trying to nail down stuttering and finally it was reported to ED. This problem have a big chance to be related to that one. We're not running much inside of the mission, pretty much all of the scripting is done using GameGUI-scripts. So far, we have not seen any scripting-related issues and the situation just started to get worse since the latest update. Since it's been running fairly well earlier, I suspect an issue with DCS here. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
