Hellcat61
My new ATI card (HD 3850) doesn't seem to support full shadows. I can get active plannar and full plannar, but not full. Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone know how to fix this? "When you're out of Tomcats, you're out of fighters!"

Pilotasso
Full shadows are an issu for NVIDIA cards, never heard about that problem for ATI cards. I used to own a 9800 pro till 5 months ago and it worked perfectly with shadows. Squid
it has been reported for ati cards as well, not as much as with nvidia but it does. I myself never had a problem either with the shadows in any of my previous cards (GF3, GF4, 9600XT, 6600GT, 6800GT, 7800GTX) but i have now with 8800GT what exactly is the name of the technology used for those shadows ? . i7 880 | HD 7870 | 8 Gb DDR3 1600 | ECS P55H-A | OCZ Vertex 2 180 | Intel 330 180 | WD 500 AAKS | 2x WD 2T Green | Enermax Liberty 620 | CH Combatstick & Throttle | TrackIR 3 | HP ZR24W | Windows 7 x64
Hellcat61
I went from a 7800GT with no issues, to the Radeon HD 3850, and lost full shadow effects. No idea why. It takes away from the game if you have played with full shadows in the past. I am assuming that the latest-gen cards such as the 8800's and the 3800's for both Nvidia and ATI have ended their driver support for Lock On. If anyone with a later-gen ATI card has any input, I would greatly appreciate it. I am currently running the Catalyst 7.12 drivers. "When you're out of Tomcats, you're out of fighters!"
