BUT didn't show hardware code as in manual, then use desktop icon, get launcher.exe has stopped working, windows checks to see.... Tried using launcher.exe directly from Ka-50/bin/stable but says cannot open blackshark/blackshark.lua and this is there. How do I get this going? This is the target info I get in properties of the desktop singleplayer icon "C:\Program Files (x86)\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\bin\stable\Launcher.exe" --console Btw, I have the boxed edition on cd, and not the downloaded version, so I don't know if something is different. The manual has 9 pages on Activation, and 7 pages on Deactivation, and this helps anti-piracy? I just want to play the game I paid for, not spend days sorting them out first, or is that too unreasonable to ask for? Calling launcher.exe directly will not allow it to operate in the correct folder structure, which will cause it to be unable to reach setup files that it needs. Use the icon, or start menu. If the problem persists, verify if you have any error.log or errors.log files in the Temp folder within the Black Shark install directory. If so, paste their contents. I suspect that this is a problem with your graphics card (ATI?) or a peripheral (such as the Microsoft Sidewinder Mouse or Saitek G15 keyboard). There are a selection of possible fixes for that in the problems and bugs section, but to know if that's what's happening I'd have to see the log files first. Have tried using the icon on the desktop, but just get the windows message about Launcher.exe has failed, and the "will check for solution and get back to you...", same with the Start menu icon. When I first tried the activation, it accepted my serial number, but it didn't generate the hardware code, so that blocks me doing the alternate ways of activation. My graphics card is an ATI 4870, and the G15 keyboard is completely normal, IE no macros etc set up, and it works perfectly with COD4, il2, Far Cry 2 and a heap of other games I've tried. Has that hardware code generated at your end, and if so could that be sent to me. Don't know what else I can do, Thanks for your help, hope we can sort this out. . Now that DCSMAX was able to start game, although only in windowed mode, as I don't get the Menu screen yet, I re-checked the Temp folder, and found a fair few files in there now, such as CockpitCommandLog, inputscript, error, debrief, errors, NewInputDevices, newinputlog, NewInputStart, obj_arrays,System, Voice and voiceText, also 5 network files with some numbers. Deactivation code == xxxx-xxxxxx Added this to serial number, with colon in between to reactivate. xx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx:xxxx-xxxxxx Reactivated with the above (xx substitute real codes), said was successful, still no hardware code given. Tried to use game using desktop icon, get launcher.exe has stopped working, windows checks for solution, will get back to you...etc. Also tried with DCSMAX, no mission selected, get launcher.exe has stopped working, windows checks for solution, will get back to you...etc. So now tried activating twice, deactivating between tries as manual states, but got nowhere. What can I do now? Only have so much time in which to return to EBGames (where I purchased it) if I can't get this going properly, but from what I've seen in "windowed" game I'd rather it be a "Keeper", but it's no good as is, especially as I can't access OPTIONS menu. Also because of no hardware code, can't do the starforce activation, as that code is required. Getting very confusing now, would appreciate a fix, PLEASE. Thanks for your help. .. No, joey45, I just Deactivated and then reactivated, as I had no idea what was going to work anyway, . Should I have done it that way, will cost another activation/reactivation now,too. Then tried runnuing the game from single player icon on desktop, and still get "LAUNCHER.exe has stopped working, windows will check for a solution....etc" Tried running it with DCSMAX as suggested, got the "LAUNCHER.exe has stopped working, windows will check for a solution....etc" when you don't use a mission, but it starts in a window when you include a mission to fly. Could one of the ED team PLEASE have a look at this and tell me what is going on here, preferably with a solutionto resolve this issue. Thanks in advance for any help given.
