javelina1 Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 My current rig: Win7 64bit professional i5 with 8 GB RAM 500GB HDD HD 7870 - using the Oct 2013 driver X52's (with magnet & tensioner mods) Combat Rudders Running with Aero, in Windows mode, and using 2 monitors. - 1920 x 1080 for the primary - 1024 x 768 for extracting the MFD's (TM Cougar MFD's) using the core parking tool, etc... When I jump into the instant mission, I can get around 45-49 FPS. Panning out of the A-10C, I can get 55-65 FPS. After a few strafing runs, with smoke, etc, the FPS drops to around 35 or so. But then, I can get some stutters, especially flying over terrain or a city. It can drop into the upper 20's, and then when I hit a particular batch of tree's over a mountain, it'll slow down to 8 FPS for a few seconds. I have toggled back on the obvious settings, (which I've picked up reading the FPS threads here). Water at medium, no civ traffic, TSSA off, heat blur off, cockpit displays at 256, clutter/bushes/trees low, MSAA at 2x..... And my CCC settings, most all are set for the application to control.... the HD7870 isn't that bad of card, just surprised the ATI's can't get anywhere near the range of the NV cards, (from what I've read on the group and observed flying the sim). I tried the most recent Beta drivers, and lost 4-5 FPS (Dec 3rd drivers). Hoping the EDGE could improve things, (but you hope for the best, and plan for the worst). :) Here's the current MOD's I'm using as well... Just lamenting.... hoping the next iteration of the sim helps with those who have ATI cards.... regards, -Jav MSI MAG Z790 Carbon, i9-13900k, NH-D15 cooler, 64 GB CL40 6000mhz RAM, MSI RTX4090, Yamaha 5.1 A/V Receiver, 4x 2TB Samsung 980 Pro NVMe, 1x 2TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD, Win 11 Pro, TM Warthog, Virpil WarBRD, MFG Crosswinds, 43" Samsung 4K TV, 21.5 Acer VT touchscreen, TrackIR, Varjo Aero, Wheel Stand Pro Super Warthog, Phanteks Enthoo Pro2 Full Tower Case, Seasonic GX-1200 ATX3 PSU, PointCTRL, Buttkicker 2, K-51 Helicopter Collective Control
