Threat warning lights

Hi,

I was wondering can someone clear something up for me regarding the Threat warning lights.On page 47 of the pocket guide it say's the warning lights indicate if the aircraft is under threat from those particular radars.It says AAA,AI,CW and SAM.

It says the SAM detects a a Launch but further in to the Pocket Guide on page 100 ,it says AV-8B NA does not have a Missile launch warning system.So does this mean that a Pod can be added to the aircraft that will give a missile launch Via the lights?

Or is this an Early Access thing to be added later?

The RWR is capable of detecting a RADAR-guided launch from a stationary or airborne platform by identifying a change in the RADAR waves hitting the aircraft which indicate a missile is receiving guidance.

An MLWS is a different system which detects the plumes from missile launches in the environment, and is effective against both IR and RADAR threats at short ranges; I.E. MANPADS.

The Harrier (and any aircraft with an RWR) should be able to identify RADAR launches, but only the A-10 and M-2000C have MLWS systems in DCS.

Yet another reason why it'd be awesome to eventually get the Plus version - it has a MLWS.
