You can just chaff any New API SARH missile head on by turning ECM off while chaffing. With a well timed execution, for example with a macro, you can even do this with only 4 chaff. I suspect the issue might be that when ECM is turned off, the new API missiles stop tracking for a short time during which they become susceptible to chaff, based on how the RWR reacts in one of the submitted tracks. Regardless of why it happens, the result is easily reproducable. Attached are 2 tracks and the 2 respective tacviews of it being done vs. Super530 and AIM-7P. The target does not need to break lock, let alone even crank if its done right. (PS: They are labeled incorrectly, this has nothing to do with memory mode) This has been an issue for a very long time, but now its being discovered by more and more people. The common myth is that this is only due to the M-2000C jammer blinking without enough of a cooldown. But in reality it is not an issue with the ECM cooldown, as even with a single blink this will usually already happen. Here is an example of why this is game breaking for anyone playing 1980s scenarios: Normally, this engagement would lead to one of the two parties being required to turn away or notch and thus lose the fight, or a trade. However, both parties here just easily survive with this exploit, and it leads to a dogfight every time, thus taking away the need to even bring FOX-1 missiles in the first place in order to have a less draggy jet in the dogfight. The 2 people in this tacview have only started experimenting with this today, but as you can see, the red jet is already doing it with only a very small amount of chaff and no real maneuvers, and the Blue one can at the very least do the same plus have multiple attempts at it: f15_memory_mode_exploit.trk f18_memory_mode_exploit.trk ECM_exploit_F15.acmi ECM_exploit_F18.acmi

This is a weird one. I searched on the forums about the Aim-7P being guided without STT and found nothing about it. I have read on this forum about the Aim-7P guidance system being able to reacquire a track after the guiding radar losing lock by the same radar reacquiring STT. I then went to test this and found that........... the AIM-7P can hit a target without a lock??? Is this correct?? The mission is empty with just 3 client F-14A air spawn and an immortal A-50. To unlock from STT I used high vertical scan to take the radar antenna away from the target in the video, and PLM on the empty sky to get out of STT as well had the same outcome. Edit: To add, same behavior happens against a Yak-40 airliner as well, to exclude it being the missile tracking an ECM signal. Also, on another mission last week I got hit with a silent R-27R without being guided by its MiG-29A (AI) radar as the mig was facing the complete opposite direction at one time (almost 180° away, nose down) as it was defending from my sparrow. Image attached. I shrugged it off as possibly being a bug and having no practical proof to post on the forum at the time as the track file is too large because it was a long co-op session with lots of objects. Am I confusing something??? For more than 10 years playing DCSW I thought these missiles needed STT. Sorry if I'm miss understanding something here. Addition: This behavior on the AIM-7P cannot be replicated on the F-18. ECM was off. I'm don't usually use it on the 14.
