Exorcet Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Some of the launchers are too far from the other units it seems. The ones around the airbase can fire missiles without issue. I don't know how far the Patriot LN's can be from the CC/radar/etc, I don't think this is mentioned in the sim either, you might need to experiment. Davis0079 Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 i ran both your missions...changed the su25t to AI so I could watch the launchers.....both missions the aircraft got shot down by your sams.... ....the two launchers that are the furthest away do not launch because of the distance from the radars....other then that I have no problems with you setups....no exploding on launch....now when the AI dives for the deck and the first missile loses track it does explode (self destruct after it knows it missed or knows it lost track)....but the second one normally gets him.... It only takes two things to fly, Airspeed and Money.
karambiatos Posted February 8, 2014 Author Posted February 8, 2014 for me no matter if its AI or a player the missiles explode until the planes is almost above the radars then the missiles actually launch and hit. However if i put the patriot out in the north of the map where everything is flat, it doesnt happen any more. The radar seems to need to have direct line of site to the launcher, which makes sense, as other sites' missiles are behiaving the same way, i wish ED told us of this change. Flagrum Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Just tried the hawk mission ... and got shot up pretty well. I would try a DCS Repair and if the issue persists, post a .TRK so we can see if you do something differently than we/I.
