Hi,

What is the difference between Barometric altitude Hold, and Barometric altitude Hold "H"?

Also, what does the general "autopilot" do? Someone on a server told me to never use the regular autopilot, the few times i did use it i noticed it would jerk the plane away as soon as i pressed it.

The whole russian autopilot system (i am correct in thinking most if not all russian planes use the same autopilot , right?) seems so weird, what AP modes do you guys use? I'd rather not bind every single one , since i'll most likely just forgot wich one is wich when i'm up in the air.

Thanks :)

"H" will put you into barometric altitude hold when the autopilot is NOT on. LAlt-4 will put you in to barometric altitude hold when the autopilot is on. Think of "H" as just a short cut to get into barometric altitude hold without first having to press "A" to turn on autopilot.

The default autopilot mode when you press "A" is route following and it will get you to your destination just fine. The person who said never to use it might of meant when you are over the battle area because you'll want total control of your aircraft when facing threats.

There are several other modes which can all be useful in certain situations. You might want to check out the SU-25T navigation tutorial.

EDIT: You could probably press "H" while the autopilot is on as well and it should work.
