G'day,

I am using my baseline home PC for DCS World with A-10C. Don't do multiplayer due internet connectivity issues, but am finding even with all settings set to low frame rate is appalling and find myself not enjoying the sim. Can anyone with more hardware knowledge than me please give advice on the best way I can bump up the performance of my system without breaking the bank? I can afford $100-$150 here and there to gradually upgrade, and am not after a blisteringly fast system. Just something that won't freeze for 10sec at a time on mission 1 of Georgian Hammer at mid-level settings. I'll be happily looking for second-hand graphics cards and so on....having the latest and greatest isn't really my style (at least, not anymore with four kids around).

My system:

Thanks in advance.

Your system is on the low end and I recommend updating the cpu to a I5 2400 your motherboard supports I5 2xxx series cpu's and for the ram atleast 8gb. You need to get a 64bit windows system because Dcs stopped supporting 32bit. You gpu needs a bit of beefing up (gtx 560 or higher). Your Apu needs to a beefing up to 450W,you are looking at about $300 to $400 bucks.

I, personally, would get a bigger PSU. At minimum, double the max wattage you expect to draw. A GTX 560 wants about 150 watts and the CPU is another 100w, and that does not include the rest of the hardware, which doesn't draw all that much (less than 10w for a mechanical disk) but it still adds up.
