lunaticfringe Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I wonder if runny has tried turning his tactic off and on again.

GGTharos Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 If they're sporting slammers then basically yep. There aren't a lot of competitors to that missile. You have an extremely skewed idea of how this stuff works from DCS - or rather, how it ought to work. You have it easy mode in DCS when it comes to facing slammers and F-15 radars. Oops, now I'm talking about DCS again. In real I guess any fighter starting with "F" just walks right in and shoots slammers till the bad guy is dead.. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
lunaticfringe Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 You know what is interesting about this conversation, is that the people who are advocating looking at the problem in a real-world context are taking flak from a person who wants to bring it back into the context of a game. It's funny because, right now, with the substantially lowered performance of the AFM missiles that are still being tuned, real world techniques work *better* than they do in the real world. Yet, as the missiles, sensors, and radar are tuned to more realistic performance values, they will remain the better performing options for survival within the simulation. Conversely, the "gamey" sort of tricks that I can rattle off, and I'm sure runny can rattle off, will be left to fall flat on their face, with commiserate amounts of "AMRAAM/ALAMO/ADDER ARE TOO GOOD!" kvetching from the general population, as they don't understand the underlying logic of missile function and/or avoidance. So let me ask- would you rather learn how to do it right from the start, using tools that will work now in "easy mode", and will continue to work as things get more difficult, or do you want to continue functioning under misapprehensions for months, or maybe a year or so, only to look foolish when you run into the brick wall that is to come?
blkspade Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 The F-15 eagle, the very best there is. When you absolutely positively have to kill every mother F'er in the sky, accept no substitutes. All that aside, most of it success was prior to the slammer http://104thphoenix.com/
blkspade Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 We're just having a little fun, perhaps your humor level is a little low today. http://104thphoenix.com/
lunaticfringe Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I made no mention of a tactic of my own so how would I turn my tactic on and off? It was a gag in relation to the animated GIF left by Lizzard. But then, considering that you've made no intimation of even having a tactic, we shall merely classify it akin to Schrodinger's Cat, and qualify your tactic as being both "on" and "off" at the same time.
lunaticfringe Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 (edited) There is no "my tactic" there was only your tactic which is as pitiful as you not being able to cope with anyone poking holes in it. For what it was, in the way it was presented, to the question it was in response to, you poked no holes. It's so difficult to argue when apparebtly people don't feel the need to abide by the laws of logic and reason. Really? You throw a bunch of excuses at the wall and call it "logic and reason", when they had no bearing on the original question as asked. Does the logical response, where it concerns your opinion, always include provisions for every potential circumstance or mitigating factor, or do you answer the question as presented? Thus you were offered the floor, to have your say in the way of what you would present as a tactic that includes all of the factors that you expected my simple answer to a simple question to include. And instead of taking the opportunity to solve the problem as you would see fit, you make claims of ignorance and stereotyping as an excuse to split. Either way, I didn't come here for a fight, I don't want to be mad or make anyone else mad so whatever, have a good day. And I mean that. What's there to be mad about? You added nothing to the conversation except easily deflected criticism- no harm, no foul, no concern. So have yourself a great day! Edited April 1, 2014 by lunaticfringe
bigcountry Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 Wow, I asked questions about shooting down other aircraft and this became a war and very much off topic lol Communication is Key
TAW_Blaze Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Not that much off topic. It's always good to see people generate further posts because a few of these guys always have something interesting to say.
kk0425 Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 A guy with 7 total posts comes in and starts bashing "Americans". Yup, just a normal day on the forums lol. But honestly, I learn a lot from the guys that come in and offer advise or corrections to other member's posts.
