ANGST Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Trying to start on the ramp I have have engine start mapped to my joystick, but when it hit it only the APU seems to come on, can't get the engines to spool up. What obvious thing am I missing ?
ANGST Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 Is your throttle set to idle ? Yep , moving throttle did nothing . Seems to work fine in the air

kontiuka Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Just for fun, have you tried with the keyboard commands? I believe RAlt-Home needs to be pressed first to start the APU and Left engine. Then RCtrl-Home to start the right engine. I don't think it will work if you do it in the reverse order.

Yes, tried that and no joy , and just did the F-15C and it starts engines just fine and takes off
Home Fries Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 When you start the first engine, the APU starts first. Once the APU is at speed, the engine will then start automatically. Once the first engine is at idle, you want to wait until the APU RPM dips before you start the second engine. Otherwise you can experience buggy behavior. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide

I figured it out, I had to calibrate my throttle, the A-10 will not start the engine at ~25% throttle (which is what my minimum was set ). After calibration I can go to 0% throttle and it starts up just fine.
