nickexists Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Today i was flying online when something that has never happened to me before happened. suddenly the helicopter started banking hard to the left. i looked down and the virtual stick was all the way to the left. I pushed my stick all the way to the right and the virtual stick went to the center. Trimming and trim reset would briefly reset the virtual stick back to the real sticks position but would then immediately drift left. I had been flying in the same chopper for about an hour but hadn't taken any hits or (as far as i know) even been shot at. there weren't any peculiar warning light lit up and all of the hydraulic, oil, etc gauges were normal. I managed to land and do a full restart but the problem persisted. I was going to go get repaired and see if that fixed it but unfortunately i crashed at the farp. I checked joy.cpl while this was going on and everything was normal, also once i started in a new chopper the problem was gone, this leads me to believe that it was part of the simulation and not a bug or other technical issue. has anyone else ever experienced this?
flanker0ne Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 At least you've tried to restart the sim before post? Maybe a keyboard button pressed? SCOPRI DI PIU': https://www.amvi.it/joinus.php DISCORD COMBINEDOPS The Battle Planning Tool

Just out of curiosity, are you using a Saitek X-52 ( not the Pro Version ) by any chance. I used to experience a similar problem with mine. For no reason ( that I was able to find ) the Ka-50 would suddenly lift its nose constantly and I would need to hold the stick more than 50% forward just to try and hold the Heli level. I used to have to exit the simulator and check the Calibration Tool for the Saitek. That's where I would find that it was off centre and would not calibrate back to the centre. The only way I was able to fix that, was to either unplug the Saitek and plug it back in. Or leave it plugged in and reboot the PC. I was told by Saitek Tech Support that rebooting the PC with the X-52 plugged in, re-calibrates the flight sticks and if ever that doesn't work, it would mean that the Hardware is faulty. I found that it only ever did that when flying the Ka-50. I used my Saitek for several other simulators as well, and never experienced that problem in any of them. Rebooting always seemed to solve the problem for me for some time after.
nickexists Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 Like I said, jumping into a new helicopter in the same multiplayer session fixed the problem so no need to restart the Sim. I think that it may have actually been a part of the simulation. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced it and knows how to fix it so I'll know what to do if it happens again
nickexists Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 I'm using a thrust Master t. Flight X. It doesn't have any of its own software and I checked the windows joystick properties while this was happening and it was working fine. I also disconnected and reconnected the joystick but the problem persisted.
flanker0ne Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Check if the Roll line (and the other) in controller Option is assigned just to TFlight or is doubled/shared with a second peripheral? SCOPRI DI PIU': https://www.amvi.it/joinus.php DISCORD COMBINEDOPS The Battle Planning Tool
nickexists Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 For a second I thought that might be it. I have a gamepad which was automatically assigned to control roll with one of the sticks. I just tested out what happens if that gamepad stick is held to the left while flying and as soon as you provide any input from the joystick the gamepad is ignored and the helicopter operates normally.
