Survey: what distance between TrackIR sensor and pro clip?

The reason I put a survey here is that:

 

I put the TIR sensor at the top of monitor which is around 50-60cm in front of me.

And I found I cannot figure out many view angle in the game like those fancy one showed in many videos ...

 

I don't know whether it is due to the distance that too close to monitor the ir signal once the head movement is large.

 

I tried to put the monitor far away from me, as a result, it is hard to see hud and meters clearly........

 

So could u share ur setup?
