doveman Posted May 1, 2014 Author Posted May 1, 2014 it's my parents mini-van, but it's not functional and pretty much being used as storage. I'm so jealous, that seat sounds way cool. Wish I could get one of those but I'll probably be looking forever, so I'll just have to settle for a normal car seat I think. MacFevre Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I'm thinking of having it on rails so that it can be slid back to make it easier to get into the pit. I saw a thread whilst browsing earlier where someone's already done that (sorry, I forget who it was) so it's not my brilliant idea ;) Most car seats slid back and forth on rails anyway, so I might even be able to re-use those. I tried to use the rails for my seat. It was out of an old Jetta, I believe. After unsuccessfully trying to remove just the rails, tried to ziz-wheel the entire floor pan out. Still didn't work. Gave up and just put the seat on wood blocks to height. I figure this summer I'd like to make an Aces II. True, not as comfortable, but maybe with enough padding it will make do. For the front, I cut two slits. Removed all the foam between them, then simply pushed the cover material back. I covered both sides generously with seam sealer, so it wouldn't unravel or come apart. If I was really eager to do more, I'd probably cover the exposed foam with material. But I'm not. :D Buttons aren't toys! :smilewink: My new Version 2 Pit: MacFevre A-10C SimPit V2 My first pit thread: A-10C Simulator Pit "The TARDIS." molevitch Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I got mine on ebay, £40.00. Out of an old MG, still on its rails, adjustable etc, with headrest, and some leather-look panels. Perfect! You have to scour ebay, and the search terms are crucial else you're looking at tons of baby seats! search "front drivers seat", there are loads, from £0.99 to £150+. There are some great ones on right now in UK. SCAN Intel Core i9 10850K "Comet Lake", 32GB DDR4, 10GB NVIDIA RTX 3080, HP Reverb G2. Custom Mi-24 pit with magnetic braked cyclic and collective. Now I know what to search for, I just hope there's still some available when I've actually got space to buy one :) Main rig: i5-4670k @4.4Ghz, Asus Z97-A, Scythe Kotetsu HSF, 32GB Kingston Savage 2400Mhz DDR3, 1070ti, Win 10 x64, Samsung Evo 256GB SSD (OS & Data), OCZ 480GB SSD (Games), WD 2TB and WD 3TB HDDs, 1920x1200 Dell U2412M, 1920x1080 Dell P2314T touchscreen
molevitch Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 There will always be tons of them! They break cars everyday.... I just tried searching for "front passenger seat" and there are some really good ones there. Ebay is also your source for the MSFFB2 joystick. Even unmodded, its a great stick for the KA50.
