First off, I am sorry to have to ask such a stupid question here, and I will be appreciative of any help you all can give...I am new to flight sims and the mission builder, and I am working to get up to speed on everything (quite an overwhelming task, to be honest). I tried using the search to find the answer but came up blank (I am positive my question has been covered, user error cause the lack of return results).

I am looking to build dogfight missions for 1 v 2, 1 v 3, etc. In the dropdown menu of the enemy jet that I add, what should I set their Task to? Is there a way I can set them to search and destroy, and set myself as the target?

Well you could have both units operate as CAPs (Combat Air Patrols) and have their flight paths intersect or be within radar detection range and let the AI do the rest.

If both sides are AI then you can watch the show to see how it operates.

Additionally you could add an Advanced (Waypoint Action) of Start Enroute Task and select Search Then Engage Unit and ensure that your target unit is selected.

I suspect the CAP setting alone will be good enough but if you have multiple targets the Search Then Engage Unit can be used to pick a specific target out of the bunch.

If you want to see an example of a simple method check this out: Red Tails Dogfight

Thanks, Sabre. Seems like I have a lot to learn to be able to put this all into context, I appreciate the response and the simple example -- that should help me to reverse engineer. I guess the learning curve just got steeper :helpsmilie:
