thinkr Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 (edited) I'm trying to configure multiple different Snap Views. The comments for Snapviews says. --reformatted per-unit data to be mod system friendly --this file is no longer should be edited for adding new flyable aircraft , DCS automatically check core database for this data(i.e. where you define your aircraft in aircraft table just define ViewSettings and SnapViews tables) -- result of ingame editing is saved to Saved Games/<USER>/DCS/Config/View/SnapViews.lua My question is there a button to press in dcs that will allow me to move the mouse and it tells me the following info for View angle etc... viewAngle = ?,--FOV hAngle = ?, vAngle = ?, x_trans = ?, y_trans = ?, z_trans = ?, rollAngle = ?, I found this old post from 1.2.4 but I don't want to have to do repair if DCS is setup to use the config file in User files... Although it answers my question of how to customize one. How does this differ in 1.2.8? It doesn't explain my questions http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=105224&highlight=snap+views BTW: There is no info about SnapViews in the DCS World Manual. It would be nice to have this feature documented thank you. Blooze Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 If you are trying to modify existing snap views and are using Track IR you can select a snap view then release it. Then using track IR find the exact position you want and pause track IR in that position. Then while Track IR is paused, hit Right Alt+ NUM 0 and it will save your new view. If things get screwed up you can just delete the view folder in the saved games DCS World folder and start over. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

thinkr Posted May 26, 2014 Author Posted May 26, 2014 (edited) I figured it out thanks for the support. 1.2.8 didn't change much thought it did make it easier. Not much File Editing involved except set: DisableSnapViewsSaving = true Within this file: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\View\View.lua SnapViews.lua Gets automatically created by DCS in the C:\Users\[uSER]\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View Folder when you save a snap view. RCtrl+Num0 Changes snap views to "toggle" mode. Thanks for the help guys:thumbup: Edited May 26, 2014 by thinkr Modded CapLoz HeliosV2.1_1280x1024.zip 2x 1080p 22"Monitors, Saitek X52, Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals, Trackir5, Win7Pro Pro 64Bit, Intel Q9550 @3.8Ghz, EP45-UD3L, 8GB Ram, Nvidia 560Ti 2GB, 2x 500GB Velociraptor Flaming Cliffs 3 DCS:A10C,KA-50, Huey, Mi-8, WWII Euro 40+ Supporter, Mig21 Falcon 4 BMS IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 Take on Helicopters Arma 2 AO + PMC + BF All Addons Series Arma 3 EECH & EEAH Medivac & Search and Rescue 4 Series
