Noj Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 I have used D3DGear recording program for making my DCSW videos for about a year. I had a break flying DCSW between 1.26 and the current version 1.2.8.27915.434-316 Now I find that, whilst I can record the GUI no problem, as soon as the flight loads DCSW crashes. If I switch off D3DGear before the flight loads, everything goes okay. I'm pretty sure what the response will be here, but you never know. I'm writing to the D3DGear devs, too, to see what they say. http://www.d3dgear.com/
GGTharos Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 If you are using an nvidia card, you can use shadowplay instead. Are you getting the same results with D3DGear when running the game in Full screen AND Windowed mode, or just in one of those? LFCChameleon_Silk Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 same with OBS (open broadcaster software) and sometimes it crashes game when you start streaming after mission is loaded

Noj Posted July 14, 2014 Author Posted July 14, 2014 Well, I've checked I have the latest version but still no joy. The problem is that DCSW crashes if I have D3DGear running (regardless whether recording or not) as soon as the mission loads. However, all my previous videos were made whilst playing the track file, not live. As I don't know the intricacies of the different routines the sim goes through with tracks compared to missions (apart from the obvious) it's going to be impossible for me to have a hope of sorting this. Looks like it's back to FRAPS for live shooting - and massive file sizes. (Yes, I know there are others, but FRAPS was excellent except for video file sizes and D3DGear is excellent and with small video file sizes. The others I tried weren't up to snuff for one reason or another).
Noj Posted August 15, 2014 Author Posted August 15, 2014 I'm very happy to report that the latest version of D3DGear now works in perfect harmony with DCSW v1.2.8  And big thanks to the D3DGear team for their very quick response to my issue. :smilewink:
