Astro Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Hey! I'm new on this forum and I'm some what new to the whole DCS World also but have "playing" fighter sims and FSX for years. Sorry if I post this in the wrong forum but I just wonder if there is some real checklists for the Warthog and F-15? I hope that I can use "cold and dark"/real start up procedures when I flying and do campaign/singel player missions? Or how does it work?
shyjonathan1588 Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 The A-10C manual has several checklists useful for startup, aerial refueling, JTAC procedures, and so on. i5-2500K @4.2 GHz | 16GB RAM | GTX460s in SLI | 1TB HDD (internal) | 1TB HDD (external via eSATA) for FRAPS recording | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS | Saitek Pro Flight Combat Rudder Pedals | TrackIR5 | 50" LG monitor

Tvol Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 For general checklists there is this: http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=37&file=474&lang=en I don't really like them because they're big and a tad confusing, but more importantly they're too general, and miss what I think are important steps for certain planes (like turning on datalinks for the Su-27/33). This generality also means that they do not flow properly across the cockpit. That said, they do include the shortcuts, for whatever that's worth. If you wait a little bit (maybe another few days or so), I'll be putting-up my own checklists (for the F-15C first) that look more like what you'd actually see (at least in a civilian aircraft), with some specific additions for quick reference, and most importantly, proper order of actions (left-to-right, top-to-bottom) and separation into small groups for any lengthy ones so you can complete the group, instead of needing to restart the entire thing if interrupted, both of which are in accordance with NTSB recommendations for checklists.
Astro Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 Great, thanks for your good answears! If you wonder, I have not yet bought FC3 and the A-10C but I'm going to do that soon so I did't know if there was real checklist with the manuals or if the sim used cold and dark. I'm a sucker for realism when I'm flying behaind the computer screen! ;) Can I choose to do cold and dark starts in singel player/campagin also? Or is it only when I create my own. Tvol, were can I find yours, when it's ready?
Blech Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 (edited) Hi, Singe Player / Multiplayer / Campaigns = Mission Editor Even the Tutorials / Quick-Mission are "based" on the Mission Editor The Tutorials \ Campaigns are in : \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\A-10C\Missions\EN\ ... Snoopy Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 (edited) Here is another option for checklist. The A-10C checklist is based in the real world -1 Checklist. If the F-15C is ever released to the detail level of the A-10C we'll develop and release a checklist for that was well. http://www.476vfightergroup.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=42 Edited July 18, 2014 by Snoopy v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
Bunyap Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Here are a couple options for the A-10 with paulrkii's (aka Snoopy) being highly recommended.
Astro Posted July 18, 2014 Author Posted July 18, 2014 Thanks guys! Will check this later! Is the F15C model so "simple" that it can't be run from "cold and dark"? Can't use real F15C procedure checklist on that sim model??
Comes Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 All you can do in the F-15 is to turn the engines on and off by hitting a button.
Archer7 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 In the DCS A-10C Warthog Flight Manual there is one detailed checklist and one condensed however they both contain errors/omissions... Do the training missions and take notes instead because they don't miss anything essential however if you want something more authentic google for checklists... I have a few. I'm also making my own because I feel the other ones aren't cutting it. Campaign missions usually start on the runway and all except three or so included stand-alone missions start on the runway or in the air but player made missions can start any way the designer wants to. I also have a real checklist, maybe we can practice it in multiplayer sometime :p I do enjoy the machinery more than the avionics of the A-10. All the switches are what sets DCS advanced modules apart from any other flying game I've played.
Tvol Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 F-15C checklists and references here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/722011/
Astro Posted July 19, 2014 Author Posted July 19, 2014 Comes: That suck, I thought that the F-15C was as complex as the A-10C. Sorry to hear that you can't run authentic checklists with working switches in the F-15C. Archer: Yea, would be great to do some multiplayer sessions when I'm at it! ;)
Tvol Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 The A-10C is $50 USD, the F-15C is $10 USD. I'd say your expectations are flawed.
