So I have a new X55 coming in a day or two, and was curious how I should look at mounting it.

My chair/desk height is great right now for using keyboard/mouse, but I know from my previous X52, it will probably be uncomfortable for using the X55 sitting there.

I see some people have mounted them to their computer chairs, but my Ikea chair has angled/round arms, and I can't see any good way to mount anything to them.

What other suggestions do you guys have?

I had thought about making a PVC 'tray' to mount the pedals and HOTAS, but I also don't have a tonne of room for a big plastic contraption (condo)

A little expensive, but seems to work. I'll be able to tell you more tomorrow when I get mine, if you have any questions.

Please do, and what HOTAS are you using?

I could see that mounted on the desk, and put at its lowest setting, as a quick way for a center mount stick

But I still can't see it fitting on my chairs arm for the throttle,

The arm rests look like this: eDgWvzo.jpg

I use a G940 stick with a Warthog throttle on a little table beside me. If your table is wide enough you could use another set of these to mount your throttle beside your chair as as well. The L-bracket is a little narrow, but it measures wide enough (6") for the rubber feet on the G940 stick and the Warthog throttle, from what I can tell. I'll post pics for you tomorrow so you can get a better idea of the fit and dimensions.

Hey there,

this is how I have managed to do this:

I have built a Basic and actually pretty simple wooden Frame, where my Device is fixed on (screws). It consists out of a throttlebase and a Stickbase. The Throttle is then on my left side and the Stick right between my legs.

The whole Thing sits on a heavy woodplate which makes it stable in itself. It can be moved and thus I can pull it around my desk right in front of me. If I dont need it anymore, so I simply push it back on ist place around the desk. The devices are connected to a powered USB Hub. So I dont Need to pull them in and out...they are always connected to my PC.

Not X55, but when I had an X52 pro I fixed it under the desk on a hinged board; It folded under the desk when not in use with the throttle hanging upside down. Recycled that to mount my Warthog; this hinges on the side of the desk, and a small bungee loop holds it in place.
