Manta Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 ok, now that I thought I could play with lockon patched 1.12 thanks to the effort of Starforce support team, another issue arises due to 1.12 patch: my tir4 is not able to stay centered. Often it goes offset to the right. External visuals are going crazy looping 360°. I have read that with 1.12 may come issues with Tir, and the patch readme file suggests to cancel tir.ini file inside Input. I have done it but nothing is resolved. Anybody had this issue and sorted it out? Thanks Manta 150GCT_Manta http://www.150gct.it/
Sleek Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 First of all when u open TIR have a look at the tracking tab and make sure u aint got no light shining behind u,ie if ya got a window or something giving light in this causes problems..the external views in lomac i havn't got a clue unless ur controling them with ur TIR? I'm not sure u can do this with lockon but I can control my outside views with EECH (Enemy Engaged Comanche Hokum)with TIR. Other than that have u tried unpluging ur TIR and pluging it back in? Be Good..Be Strong..:drink: ;)
ViperVJG73 Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Sorry, light shining from behind, is not a problem for your TIR when you have set "light filtering!" Go to the "Tracking Settings" and click on the box "Light Filtering". Now you can set light filtering to 130 percent and it works perfect by sunshine. Best Regards Viper System: Intel Core i7-4790, 3,6GHz, 16GB RAM, 128GB SSD, 2TB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5, TM HOTAS Warthog;(MSFFB2 for testing); TrackIR4 +Track Clip Pro; Windows 10 Pro.
Manta Posted March 6, 2006 Author Posted March 6, 2006 I shouln't be able to control ext views with tir, but it happens as soon as this issue kicks in. And it works perfectly with Forgotten Battles and the editor says that it doesn't catch any light. Btw I have been able to play for an hour in a row and everything went good so far... 150GCT_Manta http://www.150gct.it/
Sleek Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Thx for the head's up Viper,i didn't know about that ;) Be Good..Be Strong..:drink: ;)
S77th-konkussion Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Well it sounds like it works, now.. but FWIW the TIR should automatically disable the cockpit mouse when running in enhanced mode.. I read someone's post yesterday where they went in and enabled it.. and couldn't figure out why it was behaving funny (?!) You shouldn't be able to control externals with the track.. Other thing is where are the dots? If they are on a mic boom- then they are likely not centered on your face- they're off a bit to one side. One has to move the track unit too, or it will track fine to one side and very poorly to the other. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]

A reflector a little off to one side wont make a difference. Manta states also he's using a TIR4 so is probably using the vector kit supplied. :) Sorry, light shining from behind, is not a problem for your TIR when you have set "light filtering!" If you have a lot of windows and light coloured paint on the walls 'light filtering' wont always help. Mantas problem could be a problem with the 'hat switch' on his joystick. or a software conflict with it, by the sound of it. As for not being able to center the view; the only time Ive managed to do this was after messing about too much using 'GUI Configurator' to adjust my virtual head position. Tried moving the default position 'forward and higher'. Forward was ok. Higher made the view, after hitting the center switch, look to the right and high. Read to bother hands their on time much too with people only that bit little the.

Anybody had this issue and sorted it out? Thanks Manta I had 'exactly' the same issue you have experienced. The solution: go into the LockOn Options, and remove every key related to 'Views'... keyboard and joystick.ie. view-up-left, view-left, etc etc (Since your using TrackIR you dont need anything mapped to views for now). The cause seemed to be a stuck key issue(view up-left). Which very well could have been my POV hat on joystick which I have mapped for trim at the time. After 'clearing' all key from keyboard/joystick commands from using any 'View' function, I havnt had the problem since. Try it out, best of luck. Sure was an annoying problem ;) ---= 169th Panthers -Flt Lt.- =--- http://www.169thpanthers.com.au AMD64 S939 3700 | 2GB Corsair DDR500 | 21" CRT ATI Radeon X800Pro | 2x36GB WD Raptors | SB Audigy TIR3 | TM-868 | X52 | CH Pedals | Creative 5.1 Spkrs

Sure was an annoying problem ;) I had a similar problem but it involed using my microstick on the CH pro throttle as my horizontal n vertical view. The view would get stuck looking over my left shoulder if i pressed any of the hat buttons on my FF2 whilst using the microstick. I too removed all commands that related to any other stick. Works fine now. Just a real pain in the but to delete all those keys. cheers

Manta Posted March 7, 2006 Author Posted March 7, 2006 Hi all, up to now everything's going fine. I did as Dredd advised and maybe (fingers crossed) I was able to solve this bug. Lockon is really a great game :icon_syda 150GCT_Manta http://www.150gct.it/
