klem Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Is the FW190 trim gauge reading the wrong way round? i.e. when I trim the nose up the gauge reads -ve degrees. I know the trim tab actually goes down (-ve) pushing the elevator up (+ve). It just seems intuitively wrong for elevator and nose 'up' to show -ve on the gauge. Is it showing tab degrees? klem 56 RAF 'Firebirds' ASUS ROG Strix Z390-F mobo, i7 8086A @ 5.0 GHz with Corsair H115i watercooling, Gigabyte 2080Ti GAMING OC 11Gb GPU , 32Gb DDR4 RAM, 500Gb and 256Gb SSD SATA III 6Gb/s + 2TB , Pimax 8k Plus VR, TM Warthog Throttle, TM F18 Grip on Virpil WarBRD base, Windows 10 Home 64bit
PhoenixBvo Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 'Minus' would put the leading edge down and cause the nose to rise. I think this explains the logic and that it is, in fact, the correct way around. AndyJWest Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Yup. The Fw 190 doesn't have trim tabs, the entire stabiliser rotates.
