Nereid Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 (edited) OLD: Starting airborne with the F-86 in an user created mission seems to prevent the player from accessing the communications menu. The default keyboard assignment (key \) won't work anymore. This will not happen, if you start on the ground or choose another type of airplane. EDIT: No bug. But communication with ATC should not work with the \-key. Inflight the menu won't open but on the ground the \-key opens the menu and communication with ATC works (it should only work with the correct key RALT-\ for the microphone) Edited September 14, 2014 by Nereid DCS:A-10C / DCS:Ka-50 / DCS:UH-1H / DCS:Mig21bis / DCS:P-51D / DCS:Mi-8MTV2 / DCS:Fw190D9 / DCS:Bf109K4 / DCS:C-101EB / DCS:L-39C / DCS:F-5E / DCS:Spitfire LF Mk. Zabuzard Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 There are two buttons to access the comms menu. One is the normal comms menu (used when on ground to talk to ground crew) and the microphone button (to use the on board radio which needs power, to talk to atc etc.). Its similiar to the P-51D and TF-51D so basicly its no bug.

Well, this is a bit nitpicking then ;) but then there is another bug: Why can we communicate with ATC and "\"-key on the ground if this button is only for communicating with the ground crew? It took me a while to check this in the A10: using the MIC Switch Forward will get you to communicate with ATC, the \-key will not. Because it had worked for me on the ground in the F-86, I had assumed the \-key was the correct button. This is wrong, but then it should not working on ground. The "normal" comms menu comes from DCS World, the Microphone Button comes from the Mod. Imo they had problems to simulate correct behavior of the radio (e.g. no atc comm without power) with the normal DCS World comms menu so they created the Microphone Button command. I think so because P-51D/TF-51D has the same "problem" since release :)
Nereid Posted September 16, 2014 Author Posted September 16, 2014 Anyway. It's only a very minor bug. If they will never fix it, it won't really matter. It just had confused me, because if it works on the ground you expect it to work in flight, too.
