stray cat Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 (edited) Anyone else hear that medium pitched constant beep sound coming from the left side of the cockpit during flight? It begines during start up and is somewhat masked by the engine sound, but it gets very annoying after flying for a while. Can it be toned down a bit? Not sure if it is realistic that way. I think its some battery thing. I might have oversensitive hearing or paying too much attention but it really is hard to not focus on it. I do not mean the RSBN sound, which can be toned lowered in volume. EDIT: Its the AC GEN Edited September 18, 2014 by stray cat
stray cat Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 No its not that, besides that can be decreased in volume. The thing I describe is a contant tone, medium high pitched, must be some battery or generator item. It gets very annoying and is only masked during very high speed flight from the engine noise.
AndyHill Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Fuel pumps maybe? For some reason they tend to be making a lot of noise, I don't know if that's intentional but I think under most conditions the airflow on the canopy should be more pronounced than it is now. Possibly. Maybe. My blog full of incoherent ramblings on random subjects: https://anttiilomaki.wordpress.com/
stray cat Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 how about using your ingame sliders to adjust .. how about thinking through your suggestion? I dont want to lose all of the different cockpit sounds, of which most are great, just to get rid of the beeping 1
stray cat Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 Found it, its the AC generator. Its constant tone even tears through the other cockpit noises and engine noises.
Eldur Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 This one? DCS World\Mods\aircraft\MiG-21BIS\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\Cockpits\Mig21_AC_400Hz.wav Could turn their volume down with some Audacity editing :D But don't forget to edit the in and out samples, too ;)
stray cat Posted September 19, 2014 Author Posted September 19, 2014 Thanks for the find, Ill turn the volume on that to 0. Am I the only one that feels this sound is overly annoying?
NeilWillis Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Almost as annoying as the sound is a forum posting that insults or denigrates other contributors. Just because you don't like their response, doesn't give you the right to be offensive. Hardly a surprise that your rep is so poor!
