Hey Folks,

 

in the absence of a clear manual, can someone shed some light how to activate engine and rotor anti-ice on the mi8? i get the warning when i am flying at high altitudes, but all i do actually is just go back down into the valleys...:helpsmilie:

As long as the circuit breakers are all on, the system is completely automatic for all but the left engine. Or at least I think it's the left engine, it may be the right engine...anyway, on the overhead anti-ice panel, all the switches will be either ON or AUTO except for one of the engines, which will be ON and OFF. That's the only one you need to turn to ON.

It is the left engine, even though this manual says it's all automatic. It just happens that we were flying in icing last night and had to look up the system and read through it in detail.

 

Start on page 2-52 or PDF page 62. This is the US Army manual so it will not be 100% to the aircraft we fly in DCS.
