leapingrodent Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 So, as the thread title says, DCS World won't run. Have tried everything in the troubleshooting sticky but still nothing. I've attached a zip of my logs folder, hopefully someone can help me out. I'd rather not have to reinstall DCS World as the download takes forever on my poor connection.
Flagrum Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Post the autoupdate_log.txt from your installation directory, please. Or perhaps try the following first: rename your DCS folder under Saved Games so that DCS has to create a new one (but you keep the renamed folder as a backup) and see what happens when you start DCS.
leapingrodent Posted October 11, 2014 Author Posted October 11, 2014 Tried that already, it's in the troubleshooting sticky, have attached the autoupdate_log.txt.
Flagrum Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 There is somthing really odd ... the autoupdater worked and it did something. It downloaded and installed 2500(!!) files, mainly related directly to the Mission Editor. Seems as if the whole ME folder was missing. Tbh, I am not sure of how to proceed. I would try another repair attempt. Post the updater log again so we can see if it again did "something" or if it thinks that everything should be fine then.
leapingrodent Posted October 11, 2014 Author Posted October 11, 2014 Ran the repair again, here's the log.
Flagrum Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Yeah. The autoupdater thinks that everything is fine now. :-/ Have you tried to restart your computer after the autoupdater? Maybe worth a try ... If that doesn't help, I am sadly out of ideas now. You could try to contact the support - but I fear, they will only suggest to re-install the whole game.
leapingrodent Posted October 11, 2014 Author Posted October 11, 2014 Yeah I tried that, and you're probably right about contacting support. I think it'd be faster to get a friend to download the whole thing for me and bring it round on a flash drive, if I downloaded myself it would take days lol. Thanks for the help anyway.
