P10d Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Hello all, I've been a follower of these forums for a while to help me out, but I've hit a wall that's ruining my enjoyment of DCS. I've googled countless times but can't find a solution so I'm asking here. If I've missed it I apologise if someone can just point me to where. I recently discovered the tracking side of this game which opened up a new way to enjoy it, so set about creating a cap LED system. I set up freetrack which seemed to work with A10-C, but then did something to a profile and it refused to play ball again. I've tried FTN with the Huey add on and something is very wrong. So basically Ive now tinkered with .dll files and head tracking folders so much, I'm lost. I think I'm probably best starting it all again from scratch. So (to finally get to the point) is there anywhere that can explain the setup procedures for a free head tracking software, specifically DCS? I'm sure a lot of users would benefit from one, especially with the recent changes that have needed work arounds. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I'll answer any questions I can. Thanks in advance,:megalol:
loading Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Im in the same boat as you, A guide for Freetrack and FaceTrackNoIr specifically for DCS would save me so much frustration. I cant seem to get FTN to track my infrared LED's, I've followed every possible tutorial on the internet but it just refuses to even give me the TRACKING status?? You can land anywhere once. the Hornet, is indeed in progress... it really does exist!
P10d Posted October 20, 2014 Author Posted October 20, 2014 Glad I'm not the only one then. Hopefully someone will be kind enough to help.
SyntaxError Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I trust you are using FacetrackNoIR 1.70. In that case make sure to create a 'headtracker' folder in every aircraft folder and place only the HeadTracker.dll in each of them as well as in DCS World\bin\headtracker\ Examples: DCS World/bin/headtracker/HeadTracker.dll DCS World/Mods/aircraft/UH-1/bin/headtracker/HeadTracker.dll DCS World/Mods/aircraft/A-10C/bin/headtracker/HeadTracker.dll Setting up FaceTrackNoIR in DCS is quite simple really as long as your clip and webcam and LED's are decent and bright enough. I'm not sure if putting the .dll in every aircraft folder is necessary anymore as I've only setup FaceTrackNoIR once and that was quite a lot of months ago. 1 F/A-18C - A-10C - FC3 - L-39C/ZA - Ka-50 - UH-1H - Mi-8MTV2 - F-86F - Spitfire - P-51D - P-47D - BF-109K - CA
