It's hard to believe that with the Throttle and Stick each having their own USB that they'd actually require additional power. Especially when I'm using a 1000 watt power supply in my PC.

But there ya go ... it is obviously needed.

I flew all day today without one single weird thing occurring.

Flying with a New X-55 is like a Dream. I fly like a pro now (compared to the last couple weeks). That said, I still can't get through an entire mission without having my #$%^ handed to me !!!

But I know my improvement will be exponential now that I am not fighting with my Hotas ... as I was with my last one.

Thanks to everyone who offered assistance and advice .. and to those who just consoled me in my time of need ... LOL !!

Thanks to ALL.

BTW - Snacko .. I read the entire Thread titled "X-55 Rhino Hotas Issues and Problems" in which several people relieved their issues using a Powered USB Hub.

It sounded a bit fantastical to me ... I figured it was a fluke and there was likely some other underlying issues with their PC Configuration ie. Software/Hardware Conflicts etc.

So I really didn't think it was going to help me at all.

But if you read my first few posts (in this Thread), you will see what kinds of weird things were happening to me.

Hi...

For X-55, I was looking for "how to auto-load my profile at startup" for X-55.

X-52's profile system was working nice, but X-55's system seems poor a little bit. It won't load "my" profile automatically at startup (when I plug X-55).

I couldn't find any official solution, but what I did is;

  • Deleted default.pr0 file from C:\Users\Public\Documents\Mad Catz\X-55 Rhino
  • Renamed myprofile.pr0 to default.pr0

Now, when I plug X-55, it seems HUD app loads default one automatically. So, that's OK for me for now at least. :)

See you.

I'm not aware of any way to auto-load any specific or default profiles on startup.

When I'm ready to fly, I right click on the systray icon and select the profile for whichever aircraft/mod I'm jumping into.

While the majority of settings should be done in DCS Profiles, each mod usually requires a few things to be set up in the X-55's profiler. Such as setting up bands for rotaries or specific buttons for PTT and TrackIR Center etc.

Because things can and usually are at least somewhat different for each aircraft/mod, I don't think you can have only a single default profile (but then I know that's not impossible). Just the same, I believe you will have to manually load it via systray icon each time you start your computer.

It's habit. :)

X-52's profiler used to load itself. After using X-52's profiler for 4 years, today with X-55, I always forget to load profile before entering DCS World. Arrrg! Now, quit DCS World, load profile and re-launch DCS World... :)

I'm at 40 - slow learner here. :D

I know the feeling. Used to have the X-52 myself.

I've got my system down pat now. Select my Hotas Profile, Change my Windows Sound Profile to Headset (from speakers), Turn on and tune my TrackIR, then TeamSpeak if going online and then finally, I get DCS going.

But there have been times I forget something and have to start DCS over again. It wouldn't be half as bad if DCS started much faster. But we got what we got so it pays to pay attention prior to starting DCS and hope it doesn't Crash to Desktop once your in !
