In windy conditions I always end up having the gun reticle away from centerline, which forces me to do either roll corrections or yaw-roll corrections. Is there a way to do this correctly as I roll out?

 

I understand it is not necessary to use rudder as the SAS-Yaw dampens yaw on roll-out but I find that on rolling in, I first roll to the side, then pull stick, then on roll-out I return pitch to neutral then roll to neutral and there is the usual ladder shifting which normalizes. I want to correct it so it wont happen. I understand there is an option in IFFCC to horizontally and vertically correct pipper position (in mils IIRC?)?

 

I also want to ask by how much does PAC-1 (switch top position) cause a pitch change from 0 degrees pitch and if this value is fixed for speeds?

I don't know if I get you correctly, but the "ladder shifting" represents a slip angle, you would correct this with rudder input if you want. But I don't really get the problem with this, as the CCIP Pipper is wind corrected. I never used the option to correct pipper position, but my wild guess includes that you ruin your aim with it?

 

Activating PAC (PAC-1 is actually first trigger stage!) seems to alter control surface position in order to be able to hold the gun on target. I'd guess this is a fixed position and therefor pitch change would vary with speed, but as lift increases with increased airspeed, the effect is only a little stronger than with PAC deactivated. If I'm going to use PAC, I'd usually just keep my current trim, as I like to be nose heavy before entering a dive.

let me rephrase my question, how to eliminate gun pipper sideslipping effect on roll-out. I'm in weapons training mission, and say I roll in from 8000 feet. I want gun pipper to be short of target and sandwiched between pitch ladder. Because of windage, it drifts to left or right.

 

3 ways I correct this:

 

1- roll only correction ( banking only) .

2- roll and yaw (bank and yaw) light touch on rudder.

3- yaw only (yaw) touching rudder to sideslip pipper.

 

 

Maybe I should just roll-out downwind and not crosswind? I'll post a video of my problem soon.
