Training: Minor Text Guide Bug With Weapon Slots

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Not much of a bug but I just snapped a pic about it.

The Training guide mixes the colors and also the "russian B" looks more like "K" on the panel,, but the HUD is in english and it's showing "B" as it should.

This is probably due to the new authentic russian cockpit text & textures being added I think, not sure, I just installed DCSW yesterday.

This is on the first CCIP bomb mission in training.

It's really weird though that DCS World doesn't have any other jet for free that's in full english so I can actually learn from scratch how to actually fly without crashing in less than a minute. I have no idea what some of the beeping means, now I heard 2 different sounds, but appears there's same sound for a number of things, In this particular training mission it seemed like there was an invisible altitude wall of some kind and didn't let me reach back up to the waypoint path, after I had to turn around, I was climbing up 20-30 degress as in other training missions but the aircraft here was beeping out of control and behaving totally different. This is just a by the way comment, I have no idea if that's intended or not, but that's one of the primary frustration reasons, the training guide doesn't tell anything how the plane is suppose to behave, when i go down in a spin, recover assistance ?

I didn't expect this to be easy, the training is just not what I have expected, it doesn't explain a lot of things I would need before doing what's asking me to do, for example when you miss the airfield or a waypoint, there's zero guide assistance.

I don't know maybe it won't full solution for you but, maybe my DCS World SU-25T Complete English Cockpit Mod may help a little (I feel like I'm a sales man or marketer). :D

Wader the 8th:D... you are having most likely different loadout weight so it is normal that it flies differentely. The flight model of SU25 is very very good.

Also I want to emphasize Devrim "marketing", because he did an absolutely great job with that mod.

And Wader... consider DCS moding a must have for now! There is an entire forum section for this, so read it and come here with questions if something is unclear.

Hmm, interesting, yeah I didn't guessed in the heat of the moment the loadouts and fuel amount are a major variable ... thanks for that suggestions, in the meantime I just figured out the aircraft it self just can't do 90 degree banking and i've never been able to get it to loop, i thought it could easily do that but I guess not, a bit too agressive on the controls.

But mostly it was the darn pitch up weirdness that I had to fix with Trimming adjustments, and thank god for that joystick axis indicator, which I just call calibration as the word trim in this context doesn't make sense to me.

Well the problem I have right now, after 4 failed landing attempts, all of them because of the blown front tire, is that I taxied into a hangar, but the hangar is one way, how the heck do I reverse or open the back door? I thought I had to be in hangar for rearm/refuel to comply, i know about the canopy and engines thing. I guess those parking spots should be equal as a hangar.

One of the most depressing things in training is that respawning doesn't work for me, it did work in missions, despite setting crash recovery option setting, quit, reload map, listen guide all over again.

Well Wader... are you ready for some information bombardment? :D

1. Trimming - if you have a good joystick do not use any axis curvature for SU25... at all. If you have a force feedback joystick, trimming will move the neutral point, like for helis too. Trimming and curvature are not "friends" and weird behaviours might appear. If you have a normal joystick (no FF) then the trim should bring a neutral plane behavior in the joystick center... no need of external manual trimming.

2. Landing: SU25 is known for its hard to land behavior. You have to flare it above the runway with less than 300 km/h. It will just easily sink until the back wheels will touch the tarmac, then easily put the front wheel down. Use the parachutes for braking well before using brakes.

The hangars are one way only:) There is no way to open other door... at least in the current version.

To rearm/refuel you don't have to get in hangar, but is enough to have a specific distance to some specialized trucks (fuel, covered utility etc). Also is needed to have engines off if you are requesting repair, or to open canopy before asking something to ground crew... you will get used with these particularities. On some airports you can safely stop anywhere

The respawning thing I am not sure I fully understood.

It's fine now thanks, figured out most of this little thingies, and I was able to slowly manouver out of the hangar with some tight turning and single engine assist.

The respawning thing just doesn't work in training, works fine in free-flight etc.

I'll be opening up new threads if I have other issues, that should be enough here.
