chinggis Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 I can get downloaded skins to work for the P-51 and Dora by putting them in the appropriat eDCS World/Bazar/liveries directory, However, on installing the F-86 there was no "F-86" directory available I know it's a beta, so may not be 100% complete, but there are skins for download so I assume someone has them working. No matter what I try, I get a 'greyed out' box in the Paint scheme selection drop-down. Anyone know how to get the skins working (everything else for the F-86 seems to be working perfectly)? PS- just in case, I've just re-downloaded and re-installed - no change.
Buzzles Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 (edited) F86 is a bit wonky the skins front as no folder exists and it requires a special name. All you need to do is create the correct folder so you end up with the following: /DCS World/Bazar/Liveries/F-86F Sabre/ The only problem I've found with installing Sabre skins, at least in the previous couple of versions of DCS, is that once you do so you can't use the default skin anymore. f4l0 Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Just put the files into mods\aircraft\F-86\Liveries\F-86F Sabre f4l0 Developer of Simshaker for Aviators Feel the brrrrttt: [Official] SimShaker for Aviators Forums thread at ED forums SimShaker for Aviators (simshaker-for-aviators.github.io)
chinggis Posted November 1, 2014 Author Posted November 1, 2014 Ah, I see. Thanks, I'd tried many variants of F-86F (with and without hyphens, upper and lower case etc.) but hadn't thought of putting the 'Sabre' in the directory name. For the time being, I've gone back to the stock skins - ED are doing a pretty good job of fixing things in subsequent releases. Cheers.
jg6_bigglescdn Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Help! I have tried creating all of these directories with no success. Does a new description.la file have to go somewhere else perhaps? Cheers! B
