I flew PFM Su-27 and I felt a great need that exists a double control for ASC Direct Control (Cobra) such as the airbrake with LCTRL+B and LShift+B.

Very important function for which the command must be separated. It is dangerous to control with a single button!

When looking at the cockpit ASC appears to be switched on and off with a toggle switch. So the way it is is correct. If you want it to be momentary you can do it yourself by editing input.lua. I also had an idea that it should be momentary and wanted to change it, but when thinking about it there is no benefit. If you blackout with ASC off it will be still off if you release the button.

I agree with Ragnarok, it should be separated

That solution would be absolutely fine with me too.

The way it is now is a bit dodgy.

By the way, where is that switch?

As it is now it's one press to toggle off, and another to toggle on - how is that not consistent with the real thing ?

It's not like you're going to be accidentally disengaging it without knowing, then engaging it when you meant to disengage it...

i don't know what kind of switch is in the real aircraft, momentary, latch or two-way, but the benefit of having separate on and off control is that you can operate the switch with a blindfold.

I tried a couple of times now that the system didn't turn on or didn't turn of as expected, resulting in a crash.

Might be user error of course, multiple presses etc. but that could be avoided with a dedicated keystroke for on and off.

This is not a rant, rather an idea.

Cheers

Of course i could just leave the switch be in the first place.. :)

how can I do that?

Edit:

Here's my solution. A little different than what I wanted, but this is good. Paste in the C: \ Digital Combat Simulator \ DCS World \ Mods \ aircraft \ Flaming Cliffs \ Input \ su-27

Behave according to the principle of wheel brake and "W" key.

In the real thing it's a two-way toggle under a cover and not a button you press which we have now.

IRL you flick the thing forward or backwards, which is a bit different than pressing 's' and then pressing 's' again.

Don't you think?
