realistic_player Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 (edited) would like the climate system of DCS were similar to Arma 3 , since it has a higher dynamic weather system . In Arma 3 can define different climates in different regions and times . Edited November 15, 2014 by realistic_player 1
upupandaway Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 (edited) DCS World can already do this, although in the ME it is limited in such a way that you do not have access to as many specific parameters as you do in ARMA 3. You set the conditions indirectly by defining pressure zones across the map. DCS features dynamic weather with different seasonal weather conditions, that continue to develop dynamically according to atmospheric modelling (which sadly does not yet include moisture). All ARMA 3 has is a set of starting conditions and a desried change over time for all those parameters. Also I have yet to see how you can set climates for different zones on a map. But I agree in so far as it is more intuitive to set up your desired weather conditions in detail with the system that ARMA 3 uses. Or are you thinking of some system that allows you to change weather conditions during the mission? Edited November 15, 2014 by upupandaway [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Deedle, deedle!
realistic_player Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 I hope I can set up a mission to the climate change during the mission and in different regions .
Vitormouraa Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 It's a good idea, I guess so. +1 SplashOneGaming Discord https://splashonegaming.com
NeilWillis Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 We definitely would benefit from more advanced weather modelling, so yep, it gets my vote - though I'd sooner see climate being set by the map location, and then having a more in-depth weather generator that works dynamically over time, and changes every time you re-start a mission. I'm sure, in time, it'll come.

With more diverse graphical representations of clouds in the tube for 2.0 we´ve probably seen just the beginning of what´s possible. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Deedle, deedle!
