bradboom Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Hello! I've been flying the MiG-21 for a couple weeks & have been absolutely loving it. Since the flight model is professionally made, does anyone know if there is a document with known power settings for various phases of flight to maintain airspeed? Such as cruise settings (depending on altitude) descent & approach settings? What works best for those that fly all the time to maintain airspeed? Thanks!
Art-J Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Actually, optimal speeds given in LN manual and tutorial missions are a very good place to start. If you want to go more into details, then "MiG-21 Bis Flight Operating Instruction" posted in this forum section a couple of times should be enough; two pages in the attachment are excerpts taken from it. Note that you don't actually go for defined "power settings", but rather IAS and/or altitude combo for each phase of flight. Thrust setting desired to obtain such IAS may vary. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
bradboom Posted December 4, 2014 Author Posted December 4, 2014 Great, thanks. I did mean power settings...I was looking for engine rpm/percentage readout on the 'oboroti' gauge to maintain speed.
