SDsc0rch Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 doing touch-and-goes in the f-15 i was hearing some extra aerodynamic sounds i kept snapping my eyes back to the speedbrake, checking flaps etc - couldn't figure out what was making the sound - sounded like something was hanging out there in the wind i also noticed the jet (maybe?) seems a little extra draggy with the gear down - ? anyone else noticing this? so.. i put 2 + 2 together ----- didn't see anything about it in the notes but, is it possible maybe they've added (more?) drag to the landing gear? and you can also hear the windstream when the gear are down? or, is it just me.. ?? (totally possible btw lol) i7-4790K | Asus Sabertooth Z97 MkI | 16Gb DDR3 | EVGA GTX 980 | TM Warthog | MFG Crosswind | Panasonic TC-58AX800U [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ironroad Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 You may be hearing the actuators for the exhaust/afterburner nozzles (which have a distinct mechanical sound that you can hear at a distance in real life when the aircraft engines spool up). https://www.youtube.com/user/ironroad18 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SDsc0rch Posted December 5, 2014 Author Posted December 5, 2014 that very well may be (is that modeled??) with more experience in the sim, i'm finding there's just a lot of new sounds - a lot of tweaks overall in the F-15C (nice!) ---- i think what i am hearing is NOT the gear or flaps, just simply slip-stream sounds at low-alt/hi-spd -- [edit -- has anyone else noticed nozzles at idle function correctly?? also.. inlet ramps and nozzles visibly move in-flight (on the ground, that's another issue..] i7-4790K | Asus Sabertooth Z97 MkI | 16Gb DDR3 | EVGA GTX 980 | TM Warthog | MFG Crosswind | Panasonic TC-58AX800U [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
