Captain Spears Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Hello - Can anyone please assist me with this god-awful software. I have two issues. 1. I am trying to program the left throttle to act as RPM throttle in the P51 Mustang. I can't for the life of me get it to work using axis' percentages, and everything else I've tried. 2. The right throttle thumbwheel; when I turn it forward (to deploy countermeasures Aft in Athlonic's excellent A10C profile), all of a sudden it causes the aircraft to accelerate / decelerate. It's now acting as a throttle! I would love some assistance here before I lose it completely! :book: Thanks, Spears
ShuRugal Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 don't use the H.U.D. software to program your switches. Saitek's new "improvement" on their old SSD software is even worse than it used to be. they removed functionality in several areas. The only thing it is good for is calibrating your axis and setting curves.
Knowlynn Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Sounds like you can fix all of these problems by forgetting about the saitek software. 1. Make sure you select 'fall back' on your throttle so that it behaves like a default axis(undo your work in H.U.D). Then, in dcs settings, assign your left throttle to Engine rpm in Axis settings. 2. Make sure the thumb wheel is not set to your throttle in dcs axis settings. It's possible to have multiple axis bound to a single function, the thumb wheel as throttle might be default. Whenever possible I try to avoid the H.U.D. software and set everything up in dcs. I only use the software for more special functions like headtracking reset, push to talk, slider forward-Open airbrake, slider aft-close airbrake etc.. ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0, AMD FX-8350, Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB G.SKILL ARES DDR3-2133, Windows 8 Pro, Saitek x55, Saitek Combat Pedals, FTNOIR
