  1. I just got mine with the same 40% off. I'm sorry but I haven't experience this problem. I'm currently trying to figure out why I can't click or control the mouse while I'm wearing the headset. This happens regardless of the "use mouse" setting. It's quite painful to hold the HMD while looking at my monitor no navigate the menus.
  2. You need to delete views.lua then run "repair DCS World OpenBeta"
  3. This is a game-breaker for me. Zooming out to 140 Deg on a single monitor looks absolutely ridiculous. How can I get the modules to load again after modifying views.lua? Restoring original values doesn't seem to do it.
  4. I had the same problem. Deleting sweetfx worked.
  5. Haha, great story! I remember having my mind blown at the graphics from the intro.
  6. Here are the A-10C's TAD images; https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/274488/?sphrase_id=994407
  7. I suffer from an occasional ghost press but it's so rare that I haven't seen the need to buy a usb hub. A work-around is to add delayed key presses in the H.U.D. software. Now, I have to hold SW 2 for .3 sec before my gear comes down. Set it up by adding a 'New Advanced Command'. In the 'Press' row, add "Shift+G Shift+G". Quantize time to 0 and set a delay on the first shift to .3. It also works great if you map Eject to your hotas
  8. I run FTNIR with a 3 point hat and it works great. I think some people have been able to get it working with face tracking. You need even lighting and have your curves set so you don't have to move your head to much. I've been looking into this new technology coming out of the elite and dangerous community. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=15316 It costs less then 10$. Uses a gyro like in a smart phone. If the software is ok then it looks like it could be the future.
  9. I was unaware that the x52 profiler allowed for that. I really hope the software gets update. shift modifiers would be very helpful.
  10. Sounds like it was an heat-seaking SAM. Stay above 10,000 Feet to avoid them. You have one option with the RWR; "Change RWR/SPO mode". This Filters out anything that is tracking you and will only show you contacts which have locked you and active radar homing missles (aim-120, r-77). So if you are not in combat, it will appear that your RWR is off.
  11. It's awesome. If you get on sale(70 80 % off), it will be 2 or 3$. Worth it
  12. T/O trim, if held for about a second, trims the elevators back in an ideal position for take off. It is not trim reset. It is basically the exact same function as 'trim up'. There is no trim reset on the 15. As for the keyboard controls, there was another tread somewhere were someone who insisted on using the keyboard was complaining about the update. I doubt the old functionality will be restored.
  13. I have taped foam on to the base of my x55 stick which raises my hand about an inch. This allows me to reach the weapon release and trim buttons without moving my hand. It would be nice to have a smaller castle hat. I really like having two rotaries right on my throttle thumb. In fighters I have them set to "zoom view' and 'radar elevation'. It's very nice if you get one that works:thumbup:
  14. Very cool. I didn't think aero-braking was used. It feels to me like the rear gear is to far behind the center of mass, forcing the nose down on touchdown. Time to go practice!
  15. Sounds like you can fix all of these problems by forgetting about the saitek software. 1. Make sure you select 'fall back' on your throttle so that it behaves like a default axis(undo your work in H.U.D). Then, in dcs settings, assign your left throttle to Engine rpm in Axis settings. 2. Make sure the thumb wheel is not set to your throttle in dcs axis settings. It's possible to have multiple axis bound to a single function, the thumb wheel as throttle might be default. Whenever possible I try to avoid the H.U.D. software and set everything up in dcs. I only use the software for more special functions like headtracking reset, push to talk, slider forward-Open airbrake, slider aft-close airbrake etc..
  16. I've had this problem before. I thought putting headtracker.dll in the right spot fixed it but I'm not really to sure. Whenever the problem went away I rejoiced and forgot what exactly I did. Thinking back, it's either the headtracker.dll or adjusting the Freetrack settings. Maybe play around with use/hide trackir/freetrack. If I remember correctly, one of them might only work for 1 mission. My Freetrack settings are the same as yours so maybe I solved the problem with a clean install. Good Luck! EDIT: Sorry, I was looking at my arma3 settings. For dcs I uncheck start dummy trackir.exe and use freetrack/hide trackir.
  17. I just noticed the same problem in the F-15. Set the mission to night, go inverted near the ground and look 90 degrees up(looking up towards the ground) and you should see the light on the ground.
  18. FacetrackNoIR uses freetrack to connect to dcs. Check out this tread http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1448435&postcount=68
  19. The Saitek x55 has been having problems with ghost button presses upon moving the throttle. Many have found that using a powered usb hub or making sure that the throttle is plugged into a usb 3.0 slot solves the problem implying that the device is not receiving enough power. Although your problem sounds unrelated since the pedals are a much simpler device, It could be and low power issue.
  20. When attempting to install Helios, I get this message "This application requires DirectX components. Please run the Microsoft Directx End-User Runtime Web Installer then run this installer again." Of course my Directx is up to date but I tried the web installer anyways and got this message "DirectX setup has determined that a newer or equivalent version of Directx has been installed already. No instillation is necessary" Well, Duh.... Running the Helios installer again gives me the same message. Any ideas?
  21. I would recommend building a 3 point hat over the 3 point clip because it is more vertically symmetrical. I originally built a clip which was mounted onto the left side of my headphones. I found that looking far right was much easier then looking far left so I developed a habit of always looking right to check my 6. Since switching to a 3 point hat looking left and right feels the same. I am considering a wireless setup similar to a trackir 5 reflective clip. Basically I would take the 3 IR leds from my hat and mount them next to my ps3eye. Then, mount three reflective surfaces on my hat. I'm just not sure how well it would work so I am hesitant.
  22. If that's your situation then I would recommend building your own 3point led hat. This would include; Building your own led hat(3 IR LEDs, resistor, wires, usb cable) Removing the IR filter and adding a visible light filter(2 layers of floppy disk magnetic film does the trick) Good instructions can be found here http://forum.free-track.net/index.php?showtopic=1856 Since the shipping costs of all the tiny inexpensive parts that you need will likely be a fix rate, it might be a good idea to but spare parts and give them to friends if Israel is in need of head tracking.
