Heres my collection! (see pic below)

I used to make 1/72 models (1/48 were too big and require too much work). I have slowed down in the last 10 years (some models here were made in 1991 right after the war). My last were the F-15J and that Gripen 2 seater prototype. They are nowhere perfect as professional looking as those experts make, and shown on that site, but for an amatuer is not bad I think.

In the picture I have several models but those are just the survivors of several more I made but either used as aerodynamic tests subjects or others wich lay around broken to pieces. Someday I hope to restart again with 1 model per fighter type (the most popular ones). My F-16 on the background is collecting so much dust and decals falling that I will need another, same for the F-14 and Tornado. I need mirage 2000; harrier and at least a Su-27 and a mig-29.

oh you spent more hours in detail and perfecting finishing than I did :D my models are not so smoothly painted and lack any weathering efects. I use plain brush and revell standard inks, not sprays, just hand work (some of the joints are visible too lol). Its an expensive hoby (not as expensive as SIMing though)

ah, mine are hand made. Many are disicourage by their intial results but after some practice they look soo great that not even factory models look as "natural" as hand made. Theres sense of achievement as you finish painting and start placing decals is great. the planes realy look awsome as they shape up from a framework wich sometimes mimic the superstructure of the real planes. Its almost like manufacturing your own fighters for liliputians! :D

I used to make them by hand...till I spent 200 some odd dollars on an F-14D 1/72 academy model, airbrush, paint, and 3 months of my time "almost done" till my girlfriends kid ate the thing...

Fortunatly I kept mine away from the hands of my 2 younger brethereen, a syster, then still baby, and a brother 9 year old when I started making them. I already got experience how to handle with children, but I cant cope with the idea of some of my own LOL. I dont want to change dypers. Or have competition to eat. :D Im selfish.

I've got a whole bunch, hand-made, but they are quite derelict by now :(

I also have an unassembled Hind, Panther, and B-1B ... the B-1 is a 1:44 IIRC (gah, I forget the scales now!)

Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D

I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

I want to get the B-1B in 1/48th...I did that one in the 1/72 scale but what do you expect from revel?

Wish I still had my pride and joy...my old F-15E 1/32 scale...had more bondo on it than Pep Boys, but I had that thing looking perfect for the amount of money I put into it (approx. $100 for the model, paint, putty, files, exacto knives). Didnt super-detail it though. It would have looked good that way.

Pilotasso, you know you can purchase new decals according to squadrons right? Think they go for about $5 bucks a sheet US dollars.
