Spent a bit of time exploring the Flanker's high AoA capability early this morning. I actually flew a rectangular circuit around the airfield. This is the last part of that pattern after I had figured out the required stick inputs, power settings, etc. Until then I was either slowly rising or dropping as I flew. The part I show includes the final turn (a very slow one)--all done while in level flight with high AoA. Perhaps not practical but it gave me a finer appreciation of what this aircraft can do. I noticed that, later in the flight, perhaps because of what I had learned, I managed not to fall out of the sky, when I accidentally let the AoA go critical.
