Wop-Actual Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I have the Rhino X-55 Stick and Throttle. I also use a DSD Buttonbox, as well as the G27 pedals for rudders. All is fine and recognized up to there. The problem is when assigning controls in the options menu. I have noticed that output values from the different controllers are clashing. A switch on my Throttle outputs JOY_BTN8. Problem is, a switch on my Buttonbox also outputs JOY_BTN8. The same happens with the Stick. All buttons for the controllers start at JOY_BTN1 and increment depending on the number of buttons they possess. This doesn't happen in any other game since the output is unique to each controller. Very frustrated trying to look for a solution and actually getting into DCS. Any ideas? Thank you.
tintifaxl Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 (edited) For every attached controller DCS automatically assigns functions to buttons and the axes, depending on the module. E.g. JOY_BTN1 of every device is assigned "fire guns". You manually must clear all unwanted assignments for each controller. A pita, but that's how it is. If you have done this, you can assign JOY_BTN1 of your button box to "Toggle landing gear" and it will not interfere with "fire guns" on JOY_BTN1 on your joystick. DCS is pretty smart in this regard. Wop-Actual Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 Thank you so much for the quick reply. To understand correctly though, I must clear all assignments in every column in the control options? I believe I have done that already, not mentioning the fact that my HOTAS and Buttonbox were not mapped by default whatsoever. So for example, if I assign JOY_BTN1 from the Buttonbox to toggle landing gear, and I assign JOY_BTN1 from the Throttle to electric systems, they won't clash? I had already tried that and when pushing the one on the Buttonbox, it ended up toggling the electric systems... I'll have to test later again by clearing every single field I suppose...

That is correct. If it doesn't work for you, please go to your "Saved Games\DCS\Module Name\Input", delete all the files there and retry. Wop-Actual Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 That is what I ended up doing after all...deleting all files in the input folder, clearing all assignments within the controls options, and setting up a few controls. And it works! Thank you for your help.
