Bandit. Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 (edited) Hello, I want to start recording videos on dcs I have the recording software and editng software but i am having issues working the different external views. there doesnt seem to be information on the view systems in the user manual. so, I would like advice on this from you guys. I want to achieve views like the one's seen on the f86 and mig 15 trailers but i simply dont understand how. thank you EDIT: also, i was wondering if it is possible to rewind and move forward a track Edited December 22, 2014 by Bandit.
ED Team Glowing_Amraam Posted December 22, 2014 ED Team Posted December 22, 2014 A simple and brief summary: F2 view for external shots of planes/choppers (Press Left ALT-F2 to "detach" the camera from panning around the object to be able to look around at the placed camera position). F3 view for flybys (also for flybys of the selected object in F2 view). CTRL-F11 for "free cam" mode, to place the camera wherever you want. F7 is for vehicles, and F9 is for boats/ships. You can also use the F2/F7 view and zoom the camera away from the selected object, and then use the "Left ALT-F2" function to look wherever you want and create some more "dynamic" shots - meaning that the camera could be attached to a tank (example) but your camera is looking at something else, and if the tank is moving you will get some dynamic shots. Hope this will work as a "quickstart guide". :) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgJRhtnqA-67pKmQ3A2GsgA ED youtube channel https://www.facebook.com/glowingamraam My facebook page
Bandit. Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 great!! this does help. ill get ingame and play with this to get a better grasp. thanks!
Bandit. Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 I tried that latter and it has been very helpful. I have another inquiry though. I want make a camera view similar to f2 but that it remains fixed to the aircraft that way if the aircraft performs a roll the camera will roll with it. I've seen it done in videos but I can't figure out how to do it properly.
slamraamproductions Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 F4 or CTRL F4 (one of these) But then, the camera is still at the rear side of the plane. At least it stays fixed, so if you roll the camera rolls with the plane as if it was fixed. <==DCS Flaming Cliffs 3: Operation Grand Slam <==Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2 Tribute
