Unfortunately you can't. At least not for the purpose I suspect you have in mind. You CAN fast forward (Ctrl-A) and even slo-mo (Ctrl-Z) with a return to normal speed (Shift-A). But it is captured in the track playback. So if you fast forward, the motion will fast forward as well in the resulting track. In other words, you can't fast forward past a section of the track and leave that section out in the final playback. The fast forwarding will be there just as you viewed it. And the only way to "rewind" is to exit and start again from the beginning.
