JayPee Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 My previous topic on my random crashes took an unfortunate turn towards a log entry which does not seem to be the issue as the crashes occur randomly and not after one specific log entry. In short: I am experiencing what seem to be random crashes of DCS.EXE referring to MSVCR110.DLL. I am not playing any SP so I can't know if it is a specific MP issue. Troubleshooting would be very tedious as I'd have to play SP over and over hoping the crash occurs (or not). I am not aware of any specific scenario which is going to reproduce the crash so controlling for it is going to be difficult. I do have a feeling (nothing more) that somehow the crashes occur when it gets 'crowdy'. To be specific, either when multiple players are online and/or a lot of action going on. Crashes occur both when joining a server as a client and when I am hosting the server myself. What I've done so far: Re-installed Directx 9 runtimes Re-installed Directx 11 runtimes Un-installed & re-installed Visual C++ redist 2010 x86 2010 x64 2012 x86 2012 x64 Re-installed DCSW Repaired / Updated DCSW Updated Nvidia drivers Updated Windows 8.1 with all required and optional updates Attached are the logs and dumps of the most recent crash and below is the report of the Windows debugging tools. I am hoping at least someone knowledgeable can help me understand the report. ************* Symbol Path validation summary ************** Response Time (ms) Location Deferred SRV*C:\Windows\symbol_cache*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols Symbol search path is: SRV*C:\Windows\symbol_cache*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols Executable search path is: Windows 8 Version 9600 MP (8 procs) Free x64 Product: WinNt, suite: SingleUserTS Built by: 6.3.9600.17031 (winblue_gdr.140221-1952) Machine Name: Debug session time: Sun Dec 28 22:36:06.000 2014 (UTC + 1:00) System Uptime: not available Process Uptime: 0 days 0:08:33.000 ..................................... JayPee Posted December 29, 2014 Author Posted December 29, 2014 It's not the same problem. The topic you link simply describes a problem where MSVCR110.DLL cannot be found. i7 4790K: 4.8GHz, 1.328V (manual) MSI GTX 970: 1,504MHz core, 1.250V, 8GHz memory
Flagrum Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Two thoughts ... 1. Something is up with your RWR mod, it seems. What other mods do you use ... or better: do the random crashes also occur without any mods? 2. Something is strange with your Hawk... but you were flying the A-10C when that crash happened, right? Anyway, what is the status of the Hawk installation, did you do a clean install with the latest installer (as of 28. dec, iirc)?
JayPee Posted December 29, 2014 Author Posted December 29, 2014 1. I'm using the RAE mod for a long time now, has never caused any trouble so far. I am hoping to troubleshoot the issue without trying mod by mod, as that is going to take a long time to narrow the issue down. 2. I haven't installed anything Hawk-related. i7 4790K: 4.8GHz, 1.328V (manual) MSI GTX 970: 1,504MHz core, 1.250V, 8GHz memory
