SDsc0rch Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I no longer see indicator lights illuminating in the caution lights panel when the autopilot is engaged i used to before the latest patch the autopilot DOES in fact engage - when you look at the switches in front of the throttle quadrant, you see them move (ATT HOLD and ALT HOLD) and the aircraft behaves as if AP has been engaged i just don't see the associated caution panel lights illuminating anymore #1 - is this known/reported? #2 - what is the normal and correct behavior?? (ie.. is it proper/normal for these caution panel lights to remain illuminated when AP is engaged? and, "perhaps" the previous behavior was incorrect and the proper operation is for them to only illuminate when an error condition exists in that system.. ?) i7-4790K | Asus Sabertooth Z97 MkI | 16Gb DDR3 | EVGA GTX 980 | TM Warthog | MFG Crosswind | Panasonic TC-58AX800U [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ED Team cofcorpse Posted January 7, 2015 ED Team Posted January 7, 2015 Maybe some track? So I can see, what the problem is.
SDsc0rch Posted January 8, 2015 Author Posted January 8, 2015 here you go DCS track + TacView file to make it as clear as possible, i zoom my view to demonstrate cockpit switches moving as i engage A/P modes, and i do not observe illumination of associated caution panel light(s) ATT HOLD works, ALT HOLD does "not" work i put the a/c in a 30-deg bank, engage ATT HOLD, let the stick go, and the a/c maintains the bank angle then I follow with ALT HOLD, and the a/c begins losing altitude, until 2k ft/min sink rate develops and ALT HOLD mode disengages thanksDCS_F-15C__AUTOPILOT-ANOMALY.zip i7-4790K | Asus Sabertooth Z97 MkI | 16Gb DDR3 | EVGA GTX 980 | TM Warthog | MFG Crosswind | Panasonic TC-58AX800U [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ED Team cofcorpse Posted January 8, 2015 ED Team Posted January 8, 2015 Check your stick dead zone ;) Yes, this is correct. Your stick is not in neutral. Autopilot works if stick is in 1% range from neutral, your stick is near 1.5%, so, try to increase your deadzone
SDsc0rch Posted January 8, 2015 Author Posted January 8, 2015 yes - my deadzone was set to zero i need it at zero because i can finely control the aircraft in close formation - i can fly with my fingertips very gently i set deadzone at first to 2 ---- you mentioned something about 1.5% so i set a value larger than that that felt too "heavy" though - had too much "slop" at the center reduced deadzone to 1 ---- feels a little better i would still like to be able to have a deadzone of zero though - zero is a selectable/valid value for deadzone - i would like to be able to have that option would it be possible to change it so the autopilot works with a deadzone of zero?? maybe in the final version (the "DCS" level) F-15C ?? i7-4790K | Asus Sabertooth Z97 MkI | 16Gb DDR3 | EVGA GTX 980 | TM Warthog | MFG Crosswind | Panasonic TC-58AX800U [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sslechta Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Deadzone has to be zero? I don't buy that. I fly in formation all the time with an inexpensive stick with deadzone set to 3. No issues with autopilot controls or formation. Not sure if the devs would be able to pull off that request for you. I think that would break more other things than anything. :) Steve (Slick) ThrustMaster T.Flight Hotas X | TrackIR5 Pro | EVGA GTX 1070 | Win10 64-bit Professional | Dell Precision 7920 Workstation | 1 TB SSD | 128 GB Memory | Dual Intel Xeon Platinum 2.0 GHz 16 Core Processors (64 Total w/HT ON) | 24" Dell Monitor
SDsc0rch Posted January 9, 2015 Author Posted January 9, 2015 didn't say it HAS to be zero i'm saying DZ=0 works for me ---- i fly w/ a TM:WH, with a stick extension, and.. i'm currently flying with it set to zero so... i've also flown with DZ=2 (really didn't like it) and DZ=1 ("ok" but i don't like it as much as DZ=0) i'm just making a simple request, giving feedback to the developers i7-4790K | Asus Sabertooth Z97 MkI | 16Gb DDR3 | EVGA GTX 980 | TM Warthog | MFG Crosswind | Panasonic TC-58AX800U [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
