Weta43 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 As you bring the gear & flaps up you have to trim the nose down because the flaps (& gear) tend to make the nose drop (the flaps add more lift, but behind the CoG), so as they retract it tends to rise. Once you've trimmed that out - Depends how fast you're going ... Cheers.
blue 22 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 I would like the su33 to go PFM. Air refueling and naval option would be crazy!! I hope so to they took the Su-33 out of the navy due to their weight, they were to heavy, plus there is no catapult on their carrier

And too heavy for what exactly? :) i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg. LowLee Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 The throttle problem is that you need to push at 80% for moving, and after you have to put idle because, and after 80%, and after idle.... it's impossible to partialize the gas. If I can't partialize the thrust I would like to partialize the brakes at least, but brakes are only on/off. I can't believe that this is the real taxi system of the flanker. esb77 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Who took the Su-33 out of the Navy? And too heavy for what exactly? :) The Russians are retiring the Su-33 in favor of a carrier Mig-29 variant. It has nothing to do with weight or performance, it's a unit cost issue on a tight budget. India is buying the Mig-29 for their carriers, whereas the Su-33 has failed to sell with any export customers. That means that if Russia switches to the Migs enough will be built so that the per unit cost will be much lower than staying with the Su-33, where the only customer is the Russian Navy. It's a performance loss, but the Russian Navy, while a strong blue-water navy, is not carrier-centric in the way that the U.S. is. That means that wasting excessive money on their naval aircraft hurts their capabilities in areas like submarines and guided missile ships, where their strengths lie. Callsign "Auger". It could mean to predict the future or a tool for boring large holes. I combine the two by predictably boring large holes in the ground with my plane.
blue 22 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukhoi_Su-33 it seems the su-35 is also on the chopping block.
