Hi everyone,

First I'd like to apologize if this question has already been asked and answered, couldn't find it by searching on the forum though. :helpsmilie:

I have an issue with the F15C radar elevation when in BVR mode. The problem is that the elevation carets jitter a bit and if I want to move them down or high, they move a bit and then stick back to a default position (depending on the range of scan, altitude and where the cursor is placed). So in this case I have basically no control on the radar elevation. This behavior doesn't always appear. Sometimes I get a smooth control of it, with no jittering whatsoever. :noexpression:

The radar elevation has been configured on the JOY_BTN20 and 22 (corresponding to Scan zone down and up commands). There is no conflict in the binding configuration.

My HOTAS is a humble Saitek X52 (older generation, the best of X52). :joystick:

So if anyone has already seen such behavior and maybe have a solution, I would be glad to seen it. :smilewink:

Thanks in advance for your answers !

Few suggestions:

- update your SST software if you're using it instead of in-game command configuration

- If you're using SST, open Notepad and test those 2 buttons and see if they respond correctly on both separate hit and hold position. This is to make sure there is no conflict in the background.

- Make sure your X-52 drivers are up to date.

- Test your joystick in Windows control panel

- disable your SST if your using it and assign those 2 commands in game and see if it works, if it does, then it is definitely your SST software or user profile.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your replies guys.

I must say one other detail with respect to this problem, which makes me wonder if it is truly a hardware problem.

I tried to use the keyboards bindings directly (I believe it is Ralt + . and Ralt + ; or something like that), without touching the joystick, and the problem was the same.

Another detail, the command is not coming from SST, it is a direct binding in DCS (not an emulation of the keyboard bindings).

EDIT: I just tried to unbind my joystick input for the radar elevation, to see if the problem would be solved (so linked to the HOTAS). It wasn't the case. I had the following behavior, the radar elevation would always try to stick to the max high altitude. Sometimes it stays at the one I want of a few seconds and then bounce litteraly back to high altitude scan. I don't know any command that would generate such behavior (like a reset or something). I insist on the fact that it is clearly moving from one given position to max altitude without any intermediate position.

EDIT2: Not limited to being stuck on high altitude, sometimes it is the lower bound...
