Squatch Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I don't know where this thread belonged and so figured it would be moved once placed. I have a 90s era F-15 Pilot Helmet I was lucky enough to pick up at a surplus store, I was wondering if anyone knew a few things about it. 1. what is the buckle system called that is used for securing the oxygen mask? 2. Where can I find surplus visor and oxygen mask for it? I am looking to complete the entire helmet with visor and oxygen mask. Thanks mates, Squatch
Sabre-TLA Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 It's likely an HGU-55P Gentex helmet. You could goggle some images and see if it looks the same or see if there is a label inside the helmet indicating it's model number. To answer your questions: 1. The buckle system for the mask is called a bayonet receiver. This link has additional information about the HGU-55P plus lots of other information about helmets and masks. 2. Ebay is a good source but you can also look at this site (in the USA). MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
