Training Mission Bug?

I'm trying to complete the Nav training mission. Dutifully followed the waypoints as described and come the the part where it ask you to move the HUD cursor down then use TMS forward (LCTRL+up) to set another point. Here nothing happens. It worked fine in another training mission when asked to mark a point within a box on the HUD. Have I missed something, or is this a bug?

The command in this case is TMS Forward Long. Make sure you hold the key combination pressed for about a second, that should do the trick.

Be sure that HUD cursor (TDC) don`t have a cross inside like here (that means that your point on the ground is too far from you):

 

move it closer until cross disappear
