woodsglen Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 TrackIR has numerous titles that you can apply specific saved profiles ( in trackir - not dcsworld) i see DCS A-10C.. Black Shark Great Choices - Which of these two would i use for my P51D? dcs a10-C
cichlidfan Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Black Shark regardless of which aircraft you are flying. ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme 8GB, Corsair HX1000i, Phillips BDM4065UC 40" 4k monitor, VX2258 TouchScreen, TIR 5 w/ProClip, TM Warthog, VKB Gladiator Pro, Saitek X56, et. al., MFG Crosswind Pedals #1199, VolairSim Pit, Rift CV1
woodsglen Posted January 8, 2015 Author Posted January 8, 2015 OK. THANKS! Maybe one day they could submit some additional aircraft to the list. ( when they get time)
cichlidfan Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 It doesn't work that way. TIR sees what program is running and DCS World is the same program no matter which aircraft you are flying. Same for IL2, Rise of Flight, FSX, etc. ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! JayPee Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 I suggest using exclusive mode anyway. i7 4790K: 4.8GHz, 1.328V (manual) MSI GTX 970: 1,504MHz core, 1.250V, 8GHz memory
Fri13 Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 And I suggest to make a own profiles and load those depending aircraft you fly and set it as exclusive. Example I have own settings to KA-50 that requires easy way to get down to look Shkval screen and then to move forward and sideways, while front view is pretty smooth and all without any snapping. Su-25T requires good way to look sides and up right/left view from upper window. Su-27 needs way to look well around and especially to backside. In Mi-8 I want to have a steady axis. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
woodsglen Posted January 8, 2015 Author Posted January 8, 2015 on the trackir forum, one suggested that you can manually update your games list ( in trackir) can you actually "add" a game tite? I guess that concept is not applicable here ( different dcs aircraft ) you would think that a config file in the save games folder could accomplish the same result as you would have when you specify different button assignments to controllers for each aircraft example ( assuming I have the order correct here ) user /saved games / dcs /config / input / p51/ throttle, pedals, joystick, trackir
Weegie Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 It doesn't work that way. TIR sees what program is running and DCS World is the same program no matter which aircraft you are flying. Same for IL2, Rise of Flight, FSX, etc. Does Track IR work for Rise of Flight? I have that program and it doesn't seem to make any recordings to TrackIR. If I've been missing something I'd love to know what to do to enable it
woodsglen Posted January 8, 2015 Author Posted January 8, 2015 To the best of my knowledge ( limited stick time on modern sims and trackir ) you need to have trackIR up and running ( in the background, so to speak ) so your sim can access it. I've had some instances where Trackir ceased working for some reason, and so far, my only recourse has been to reboot. Ifind that X-pane is not very friendly - actually a PITA compared to dcsworld for integration of trackir.
woodsglen Posted January 8, 2015 Author Posted January 8, 2015 One other thing, X-plane can use "plugins" for things like trackir. I'm no programmer, but that would be nice to have here - then you could call up presets for each aircraft. The plugin actually is more for your relative position in the cockpit, but maybe it could control other functions of trackir if needed?... something to think about for a wishlist?
