Worther_1 Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Hi all, I'm not very experienced with screen resolutions and I have an issue maybe someone could help with? I have an old 19" monitor 1440x900. If I set the resolution to this in DCS World the text is very small and not easily readable. I'm currently using 1024x768 and the txt is easier to read but to me the aspect ratio of the planes doesn't seem quite right. I know there are other resolutions available, can anyone recommend what I should try? I'm hoping to get a better full HD monitor in the future but cash is tight. I also use Track IR. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this. Regards, Worther_1 Worther_1 DCS Black Shark 2, A10-C, Huey, MiG-21bis, Hawk, Flaming Cliffs 3, F/A-18, Nevada Terrain.
Tricky11 Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Thats because 1024x768 is a 4:3 aspect ratio and 1440x900 is a 16:10 ratio. So you should try 1280x800 instead. I think i got that right and im sure i will be corrected if im wrong
Worther_1 Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 Thanks for the info, that lines up with what I thought, I've tried the setting you recommended and that seems a good compromise until I can afford a larger monitor. Thanks again Worther_1 DCS Black Shark 2, A10-C, Huey, MiG-21bis, Hawk, Flaming Cliffs 3, F/A-18, Nevada Terrain.
